About the Wine

Azienda Agricola Piona Gavi
100% Cortese from the Piona hill, in the heart of the appellation. All organic production, Azeinda Agricola Piona specializes exclusively in white wine production, all being Gavi. The wine has a light yellow coloration with green highlights, bright and crisp on the palate with bright acidity, savory notes, and good structure on the palate.
Torrevento ‘Bolonero’ Castel del Monte Doc
The Bolonero hails from the plateau surrounding the famous Castel del Monte (castle), commissioned by Frederick II of Hohenstaufen between 1240 and 1250 at 539mt of elevation. The typical grapes of this area used for Bolonero are Nero di Troia and Aglianico -- in combination these two varieties deliver a wine that has a wonderful ruby/purple color, rich fruit intensity like plum, currants, and spices, balanced by both lively acidity as well as firm tannins.
