(Dale teams go first followed by a Dale championship round; Wheelock teams go second followed by a Wheelock championship round)

HOW IT WORKS:
The MCPE Spelling Bee is a low-stress team approach to a spelling bee. There is no spelling out loud in front of the crowd! When the moderator reads a word, team members confer and write the correct spelling on a piece of paper. There will be several rounds for each age group, and winning teams will be crowned for grades 2-3 and grades 4-5. Costumes are encourage but not required!
Solo Spellers
Students in grades 2-5 can sign up as Solo Spellers to participate in the MCPE Spelling Bee! If two or more Solo Spellers sign up from the same school (Wheelock or Dale), the Solo Spellers will be combined into teams of 2-4 students. As this is a team competition, teams with only one child are not allowed. If, by chance, we do not have enough Solo Spellers to create a team(s), we will notify the parent/guardian(s) and refund as needed.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
Any Wheelock or Dale School students in grades 2-5 can participate in teams of 2-4 students (from the same school) or as Solo Spellers.

COST?
$20 per student
Each participant will receive a small prize!

OTHER DETAILS:
Rounds will be assigned one week prior to the event. Teams must check in 15 minutes before each round.
Concessions and pizza will be available for purchase.
