Mandarin Culture Grant at Wheelock
During the first 2022/23 grant cycle, the Mandarin language program at Wheelock received an MCPE grant to purchase culturally enriching learning materials for students. From January through June, students will vividly experience Chinese culture by building Lunar New Year Lanterns, gaining a deep understanding of the zodiac year and how people celebrate the Lunar New Year, and practice using Mandarin characters they have learned to decorate culturally significant items such as fans and bookmarks.
